Persuasive Devices are used throughout a text to increase the likelihood of convincing the audience to feel or think a certain way. Persuasive Devices can often be remembered by the acronym AFOREST. This acronym stands for: alliteration, facts, opinion, rhetorical questions, emotive language, statistics and three (rule of three) OR triples.
