The Taronga Zoo Voice Levels Display is designed to support clear, shared expectations around classroom noise in a way that is visual, memorable, and easy for students to understand. Each voice level is represented by a Taronga Zoo Legacy Animal, helping students quickly connect behaviour expectations with context and purpose rather than correction.

The display includes five clear tiers: independent work shown through a marine turtle gliding quietly through the ocean, whisper represented by two meerkats sharing a hushed moment, group work illustrated by koalas with a baby riding on an adult’s back, presenter shown by a lion standing confidently on a rock, and class discussion depicted through three giraffes. Editable text features allow teachers to adjust wording to suit age level, classroom language, or school-wide expectations.

Developed as part of the Taronga Zoo Classroom Decor collection in collaboration with Taronga Conservation Society Australia and Gifted and Talented Teacher, this resource brings together education, conservation, and thoughtful classroom design.
