The SEEC Model allows us to classify words in a way that helps to categorise known words, complex words and subject specific words. We do this by categorising words or vocabulary into tiers. Once we can define a word by its tier, it's much easier to learn about each word and to what extent.

Teachers may find that they spend a predominant amount of time teaching Tier 2 words, whilst referencing Tier 3 words in subject-specific opportunities. The SEEC model breaks down the exploration of words where we specifically select, explain, explore and consolidate.

    These are a great resource that I am able to link in with the NSW units. We will continue to add vocabulary as the year progresses offering students to view the resources to help extend their writing and help with spelling.
