Harmony Day and Harmony Week: Paper Doll Chain
FREE
This activity is designed to help students understand that we are all very different, yet everyone belongs. Once you have completed the below activity, display the doll cut outs in a single line around your classroom. You may wish to use the lettering display as well.
Give each student an A4 or A3 printed person (1 per student - students can work in groups of 3, or students can work independently and colour in 1-3 people each). Students create a visual representation of themselves - encourage creativity!
- section the cut out doll (rule lines to create sections) and include things that make you different
- try to resemble yourself exactly e.g. skin colour, hair colour, eye colour, favourite clothes
A focus on:
- The International Day on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination
- National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence
- Harmony Day/Harmony Week
